Appliance Rebates FAQ

Monday, September 20, 2010

Note: This Friday, the 24th the state of Illinois is offering 15% off qualifying Energy Star Appliances. Please come in BEFORE September 24th to select your appliances. We want to make sure you receive the best service possible. Even with all our staff working that day, we expect long waits. Pre-selecting your appliances before that day, then making an appointment for the morning of Friday September the 24th will ensure you have time to make a smart selection AND get the maximum discounts!

-Do I have to buy an individual product or a whole appliance package? The State’s 15% Off Offer is valid on ANY individual item (Clothes Washer, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, or Freezer) that is Energy Star Qualified. The Up To $1,000 GE Profile Pre-Paid Visa Rebates (doubled for up to $2,000!) are valid on 2-4 piece GE Profile Kitchen Packages.

-Do I have to be replacing an old product to qualify for the 15% off? Yes. Rebates are only available to consumers who replace an existing, likely less efficient, appliance with a new, Energy Star qualified unit. Each customer will be required to sign a certification stating that their purchase will be used for replacement purposes.

-What models are eligible for the $1000 GE rebates (doubled to up to $2,000)?

Please visit GE's website here to see all eligible models

-How many appliances do I need to purchase for the package rebates?

2-4 piece packages are eligible for this rebate.

-Can I come in the morning of Sept. 24th to pick out my new appliances?

Due to the monumental success of this program in the past, all Sherman’s stores will be operating by appointment only on Sept. 24th. However, please feel free to come in and work with one of our appliance experts anytime before Sept. 24th to pick out the appliances that fit your needs. If that is the only morning you’ll be able to visit, please expect a wait.

-When do I need to take delivery of my new product?

The state has set a deadline for delivery of Monday, October 18th.

-Do I get all the money off at the time of sale or do I have to send away for it?

The 15% comes directly off the items’ tagged price on the floor at the time of purchase. The $1,000-$2,000 rebates are mail-in forms. You should receive the Pre-paid Visa card in the amount you qualify for within 4-8 weeks.

-How long do I have on Friday the 24th to come in?

The state’s funds could run out at anytime. So, we suggest you schedule your appointment as early as possible the morning of the 24th. However, we will guarantee the 15% off through 3:00 pm that day just to get you the best deal available!!
